I do have pam-devel installed:
# rpm -qa|grep pam pam-devel-0.77-38 pam-0.77-38 pam-modules-2003.3.11-1
However, that particular library doesn't seem to be part of those rpms
Then you need to simply investigate which PAM modules you DO need to specify in order to implement password authentication. On some systems it's called pam_unix, on others it's pam_pwdb, etcâ
