Did you enable the "OUTBOX" setting in imapd?
The really weird thing is that if I use Outlook Express as client, the problem disappears. But using Thunderbird or Squirrelmail results in 2 mails every time I send one.
If you enabled the "OUTBOX" setting *and* configured your clients to store sent messages in the special outbox folder, then that would probably happen.
