Sam, you have suscinctly summarised the situation, of which I am glad.
Which part of (B) have I missed? I need to see the UID down this socket!!

I think Courier is a great product, and the enhancement I am promoting
is in the interests of interoperability between a wide range of MTA's
and other mail users.

Particularly, I have associated this change with using the enormously
popular SpamAssassin product and pure virtual mail accounts as
implemented in most major ISP environments.

I explicitly stated that these changes were not necessary for Courier
per se, but surely this IS exactly the audience in which you as
designer, and I as concerned and active community particpant, wish to
promulgate the use of Courier.

This is a completely esoteric change for Courier which in turn offers
major strategic advantages in terms of interoperability with other
significant components of an overall mail solution for large scale vendors.

Receptivity to enhancements such as this ARE a necessary component of
the growth and acceptance of Courier. I am not going to stop using
Courier if you choose to ignore this patch, but a vibrant and
forthcoming community with asperations and usages beyond which even you
envisioned is surly something that should be encouraged.

How say you?

Alan
