You need to tell squirrel mail that your imap server is courier. If you run the perl script to configure squirrel mail you can tell it that your imap server is courier and then it will know that the inbox is "Maildir" and that separator is a period. So it will try and create "Maildir/.Sent" which is the correct folder name.
