When I install the rpm for courier-webmail, I always get dependency problems because I install Apache from source.
error: Failed dependencies: /var/www/cgi-bin is needed by courier-webmail-0.45.2-1.1 /var/www/html is needed by courier-webmail-0.45.2-1.1
Is there a better way to get around this than specifying "--nodeps"?
A better way is to install Apache via RPM, appropriately.
This way, if at some point in the future you upgrade some obscure system library that apache depends on, rpm will tell you that up front, which is obviously better than having you discover the same fact after it's too late, and Apache begins blowing chunks, taking down all your domains with it.
