Hi

Now I got mozilla sort of working

Apperently there is some imap bugs

http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80858 (Improper INBOX format with Courier IMAP)
which bassicly means that if you do not set the Server folder prefix to INBOX. then they will appear below the inbox, but if it is is set they appear as siblings

If I set it I however cannot create any folders inside the inbox, only as siblings or below siublings, cannot have it both ways

My squirrelmail i cannot get to work

I have set the server type to courier, but they still apear as subfolder to the inbox.

If I also set the default_folder_prefix to INBOX (as suggested by the config script). they I get a double set of folders namely:

INBOX.Sent
INBOX.Drafts
INBOX.Trash
INBOX.INBOX.Sent
INBOX.INBOX.Drafts
INBOX.INBOX.Trash

Tim have you run into this also ? perhaps you could mail/post your config file for comparison

best regards
henrik

Hi

I tried to find it by looking in the archives but I didn't find it.
Perhaps you (or someone else) could provide a more direct link to the
fuller explantion, or perhaps even to a working mozilla/squirrelmail
setup.

I dont use mozilla, but for squirrelmail you just need to $imap_server_type = 'courier';

in your config.php

Somehow Im having trouble comming to terms with all the modern
clients I try displays it wrongly (and unlike all other servers I
access). Im hoping that there is something that I have overlooked..

This is an issue with how the CLIENT chooses to DISPLAY the folders,
Courier has little or no control over that. Details of the IMAP specs
have been posted in this list and will explain better than I can.

Hi

I have just tried again using a fresh account, but I still get the
problem

This time I manually set the namespace in my configuration:
imap server directory: <empty>
Show only subscribed folders: no
Server support folder that contain folders and messages: yes
Max server connections: 5
Personal namespace: INBOX.
public (shared) namespace:  shared.
Other users namespace: <empty>

Best regards
Henrik

Hi

I know it properly comes up quite often, but haven't been able to
find the
right solution yet.

My problem is that All my folders (incl sent, draft and trash)
appears inside
the Incbox instead of outside it. Also manually created folders can
only be
placed inside the inbox.

According the the FAQ entry
(http://www.inter7.com/courierimap/FAQ.html#namespace) it should be
a client
problem, but I have not been able to find the right configuration
yet. Looking
at the readme http://www.inter7.com/courierimap/README.imap.html
did not help

My Setup
* Gentoo Linux with the following packages:
- OpenLdap 2.1.26
- Postfix 2.0.19
- Procmail 3.22
- courrier-imap 3.0.2
- apache 2.0.49
- squirrelmail 1.4.2
- jamm 0.9.6

* I setup the mail system according to the howto provided by jamm:
http://jamm.sourceforge.net/howto/single-html/mailserver.html

* I have made to special customizations afterwards

* I connect to the server using courier-imapd-ssl for my regulart
client, and
my webmail connect using the normal courier-imapd

* I'm having the folder problem both in mozilla 1.6, and in the
squirrelmail
webclient.

In mozilla I have tried the following namespace settings:
map server directory: <empty>
Show only subscribed folders: yes
Server support folder that contain folders and messages: yes
Max server connections: 5
Personal namespace: <empty>
public (shared) namespace:  <empty>
Other users namespace: <empty>
Allow server to override these namespaces : yes

I have also tried giving it Inbox. and shared. as namespace. (will
try again
tonight in a fresh account setup)

In squirrelmail I haven't touched the defaults.

(if you need more information, please let me know and I will try
and get it)
