Hi, when we were educated about M$ Exchange (M$ seminar) we were told that it is tightly integrated with Outlook and that Outlook's primary task is to function as a Exchange client. We have asked about other protocols and were told IMAP in Outlook has buggy implementation and that M$ wants to fix it in the next version. Well - it was Outlook 2000 then ... ;)
To answer your question directly - Outlook doesn't work with IMAP. If you will try to work with it, it will collapse. :( Regards, David.
