All,

I've got a new courier installation (V. 0.45.4.20040424) that I've got
working well, with one exception. When I try to setup aliases I get MX
Loopback errors - "configuration error: mail loops back to myself (MX
problem)." - and the mail bounces. The entries in the aliases file are
simple:

bogus: real

Where bogus is a user that doesn't exist on the system, and real is a user
that does. Mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] bounce. Mail to real users of the
system gets through just fine.

Any thoughts?

Verify that:

A) All DNS A and primary MX records that list the server's IP address are listed in the locals or the hosteddomain files.

B) That exactly one of the domains enumerated by A) matches exactly either the machine's hostname, as set by the system, or the contents of the me configuration file.

C) Note that after making changes to some configuration files it is necessary to rerun several scripts (including makealiases).
