That will work, and it's better than using an IP address, but that still means that I can't use their "official" mail relay (mail.bellsouth.net). At some point, they are going to change things -- maybe remove mail00 and mail01 in favor of mail02 and mail03 -- and my outbound mail is going to stop for a few days until I notice and manage to figure out what happened. Since mail.bellsouth.net is their official relay, hopefully they wouldn't change that without notifying everyone first. It would be nice to have some sort of interface so that I could specify the mail relay server by name in esmtproutes without having to worry about MX records. Perhaps something like this? :mail.bellsouth.net /NOMX If it wasn't for all he paranoia over spam, I could avoid this problem and let Courier deliver directly.
