Greetings!
I'm on quite a few mailing lists, as some of you probably are, and as a result my mailbox list is getting quite long. I'm using Mozilla as a mail client, and I wanted to do something like this:
Inbox.Sent
Inbox.Drafts
Inbox.Trash
Inbox (main inbox)
-> Mailing Lists
-> Courier
-> Postfix
-> NANOG
Inbox.Nagios
Is it possible to safely make such a folder structure?
What issues might I run into?
Is a structure like that common? Otherwise, I'm going to wind up with a bazillion folders sitting under Inbox. I'd like to collect all of the mailing list folders (I sort them with maildrop) into one main folder that I can collapse/view at will.
Thanks!
Works fine for me ;) The only real limitation is that courier stores things as .Mailing Lists.Postfix in the maildir, so if it gets longer than your filesystem's directory name limit you might hit problems. I've never had any.
