Dear courier users,

This is question about email in general.

If I was to receive an email knowing that I was one of many recipients
listed in the BCC field of the sender. Is there anyway of telling who the
rest the recipients are?

Not really. There will not be any helpful information in the email itself - Bcc recipients are blind; once the message leaves the author, they are only recorded on the message envelope, which is specific to the copy of the message heading their way.

There might be ways to find out - but they all have limitations.

You can ask the sender.

As systems admin, you might have some more options - it may be possible to track down other copies of the message that went through or to one of your servers. Maybe there are still copies on the hard disk, or maybe the mail logs will show other copies of the message that were flying around at the same time. Or perhaps you have an IP sniffer running. But unless you are storing a copy of every message through your server, the evidence is at best going to be circumstantial.

You aren't supposed to be able to find out the other Bcc recipients...
