What is odd is that my distro came with openssl-0.9.7a.22.1 (looking at the
source cd for RH AS 3.0) and up2date / RHN must have upgraded it to 35.1
????? When I signed up for RHN it ran a very long time.

Now up2date won't work and one of the errors is /lib/libssl.so.4

So it's clear to me that I can't follow what the rpm command tells me to
remove programs even though it doesn't complain.

Is there a way to save this and if so can running up2date kill it?

What would you do in this situation?

What I would do in this situation is realize that the up2date-related issue has nothing to do with Courier, and since I've presumably paid for RH Advanced Server, and it entitles me to support, I'd pick up the phone and get the support I've paid for.
