I had a question regarding the number of authdaemond processes that I should
configure. We have Courier setup to authenticate via MySQL in an attempt to
mimic our current system (a commercial MTA/POP3/IMAP package that uses an
in-house written MySQL authentication module). The problem is that during
our stress tests, we begin to have authentication failures. My initial
feeling was to increase the number of authdaemond processes, but that goes
against the recommendations in the comments.

Each server is fairly busy and always has between 800-1900 simultaneous
connections (mostly POP3). What type of settings would you guys recommend so
that we can get this setup to a point where it can handle the same amount of
users and connections?

Michael
