I'm not sure what the problem is here.  The only thing I can think of
is a problem with the permissions or the directory structure.

Send me the output of an 'ls -lRa' on the maildir.  If you have any
humungous directories, you can cut all but 3 or 4 of the email files
from the output before you mail it.
