Dear all,

I would be hugely greatful if someone can provide me with suggestions on
how to diagnose this problem.

Aliasing doesn't work for one domain but does for all others I host.

I have so far checked the following;

1) Removed entries from hosteddomains & esmtpacceptmailfor
~ and then re-entered them.
2) Ran makehosteddomains and makeacceptmailfor
3) Removed entries from mysql table and re-entered them
4) Restarted server in case anything was stuck in memory
5) Checked DNS records in case there was a possibility of anything
~ being caused from there.
6) Checked the config for the domain against known working entries on
~ my server.
7) Checked MySQL logs to see if anything shows up - nothing
8) dumped MySQL database and checked output - again all is fine

MySQL Log
- ----------
050101 12:52:23 5 Query SELECT id, crypt, "", uid, gid,
home, "", "", name, "" FROM passwd WHERE id = "[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
~ 5 Query SELECT id, crypt, "", uid, gid,
home, "", "", name, "" FROM passwd WHERE id = "[EMAIL PROTECTED]"

If someone could suggest either a few tools or ways to diagnose this I
would be very greatful.

Kind regards, and happy new year.

Toby Heywood

| Seasons greetings,
|
| I hosted a couple of domains for some friends and family and have just
| found myself up against a brick wall. I have added a domain in the
| usual manner to hosteddomains and esmtpdacceptmailfor (ensuring to run
| makehosteddomains and makeacceptmailfor).
|
| I have added an entry to the mysql table used for authentication and a
| select * from passwd; returns the following output (details have been
| altered for security)
|
| | [EMAIL PROTECTED] | crypt | passwd | ALIAS - LParkes | 700 |
 700 | /var/spool/mail/hosted/mandc.com/lp
|
| Aliasing is working fine for all but one domain on my server, but I
| cannot see any reason why alias@ for this one domain doesn't work.
| Sending an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] works fine.
|
| Could anyone shed any light on this or suggestion what maybe causing this?
|
| Thank you in advance.
|
| Toby
