Sorry for the obvious, but ofcourse it can be changed. Host the domain
somewhere they understand RFCs and the magic word service. In .nl, I
recommend IAF, but there are many others. Hosting at essenkabel is
asking for trouble, those guys know central heating, but not DNS
(obviously).
Sure, you're right. But, as said, I don't control that domain. I just want to have my courier mailer deliver mail there. Can that be done?
esmtproutes. You have to hard code the MX in the esmtproutes file, and then courier will ignore the DNS. Check the man pages, but it goes like this iirc (note it uses the IP address, not the hostname):
demarskramer.nl: their.mx.ip.address
