I have a bounce message that is stuck in my mail queue. The message should be delivered to my address, but it doesn't go through for some reason. My Exchange server rejects it with "421 Internal error. Connection closing".
The problem is that if I attempt to cancel the message, Courier attempts to send a cancellation notice to the postmaster, which is directed to my account. So the message just comes back with a different Queue ID and remains lodged in the queue.
Other messages to the postmaster and to my account through other aliases work fine. It's just this one message that will not go through.
How can I track down the message and manually remove it from the queue?
Set up a temporary alias to redirect that address to a local maildir. Run makealiases, then 'courier restart'. Then cancel the message. That should get rid of the bounce.
