If there's no way you could make time for this anytime soon, please let me know and I'll offer a bounty to the others on the list in case someone else wants to give it a shot.
Isn't it possible to do this via a .courier-unsubscribe file and maildrop, without hacking into courier code?
Even if I could get something like this to work for unsubscriptions, what about getting past messages or posting to the list? I'd have to have a .courier-xyz for all of the mailing list functions that verified the subscriber address, which would be tedious now and seems especially problematic if future versions of courier add more dash-functions that I have to go back and accomdate.
And I don't even know what I'd do about posting to the list. That's actually the more common problem people encounter: They get subscribed to a list using all lowercase, then try to post using a mixed-case address. Admittedly I haven't sat down and given it a lot of thought, but I don't see how a .courier file would work in that case.
In the end, though, if I actually had the kind of time to figure out .courier-xyz/maildrop solutions and implement them, I'd also have time to figure out how to add a IGNORECASE=1 option. And once you consider all the different things that the mailing list checks addresses for, this is really a much cleaner solution (also, once it's been done, it's certainly going to be a lot easier for other people who encounter the same issue).
