I have performed a basic testing with login_ldap on a server I setup, authentication worked. I will perform some more testing later when they aren't in use. I am not using AD only LDAP on the OpenBSD server.
Are you able to authenticate the user with a shell login?

Yes... this users can login in console or ssh session. They are "real" unix users, but they password are not stored in "passwd" or "shadow", but in AD. I think to do it in Courier, just using PAM.
Using Debian linux i can do that (???), but i would like to use OpenBsd.
