I am using Debian GNU/Linux 3.0 and 3.1 and have installed courier-(mta,mta-ssl,imap,imap-ssl,mlm,webadmin,...) It works by default without any intervention. The RCF say, EHLO/HELO should be a FQDN. The "hostname" should be a SINGLE name WITHOUT a DOT.
