I have the authdaemonrc file configured to use authpam, but Im not
entirely sure how to configure PAM so that it will read my /etc/shadow
file.
In my experience, this should work out of the box, at least on sarge.
Try "courierauthtest USERNAME" to check if the authentication works.
Check that the maildirs exist; if they don't, instruct the users to log
in, go to their homes and execute "maildirmake Maildir", or do it as
root but remember to chown the maildir as appropriate. I'd suggest to
run maildirmake into /etc/skel too, so new users will get their maildir
by default.
