Sorry - slip of the keyboard. EHLO doesn't work either.

Well it seems I was being a bit too careful about testing. Email sent
from a client to the correct address and with DNS setup correctly, is
being received OK. So ESMTP _is_ doing its job and my problems are null
and void. Just don't understand why I can't talk directly to the SMTP
server - not that it really matters, but mysteries bug me. Back to the
docos for another session.
