It is anything but elegant and wouldn't work in all situations (for instance
when using ldap-aliasing to a remote box), but I think the options are
limited in this regard. I would be an improvement over the current
situation.

I would personally not like that extra received header when for instance,
the message is relayed to another box. I can imagine it could trigger some
spam-filters. Also, does it have any effect on for instance, SPF /
Sender-ID?
