Hello

We are using courier-mta and we have problem with some of our client
using M$ Outlook. Lets imagine two situations.

1. Client is sending email. He has our mail server as mail gateway. He
made mistake and send e-mail to not existing user on remote server.
Remote server reposns with some error message like 500 User unknown and
courier generate error message and deliver it to sender.

That's great, but, let's make small change.

2. Client is sending email, but recipient's domain is hosted on our
server (same as users mail gateway). User sends e-mail to server, server
respons with 500 User unknown... And here begins the trouble:

- if client uses well designet software (like thunderbird), he recieves
warning window with message containing explanation why sending failed

- if client uses piece of crap software (like M$ Outlook crapware(TM)),
he do not receive anything and crapware(TM) move his e-mail to Sent
mail. And user is happy because he think that mail is on the way.

So, I want ask you for any suggestion, how to solve this problem.
Because crapware(TM) ignore all 5xx messages, so user is not notified
about Limit exceeded, User not found, Virus found and so on.

Is there any possibility how to set up server to behave as it was
described in the first case? If error occures than deliver e-mail
notification to sender.

Thank you for any advice

Have a nice day
