It's not valid to have a domain > configured both as hosted, and local. Look at the man page for > "courier", and read the "hosteddomains" section for more information....I misread your description, and thought you said that "foo.com" was in both files. If your users really are stored with "id=<user>@foo.com", then I still assume that is the case. If the domain were local, you would only have to add bar.com to the locals file. All users and aliases would be members of both domains. The "locals" and "hosteddomains" sections of the courier man page should explain why.OK, now I have deleted my locals and put the following in hosteddomains: foo.com .foo.com<TAB>foo.com bar.com<TAB>foo.com .bar.com<TAB>foo.com and I have the following in esmtpacceptmailfor foo.com .foo.com bar.com .bar.com and I have done a makeacceptmailfor & makehosteddomainsNow when I try to send a mail to <user>@bar.com I am getting the following back:UNDELIVERABLE MAIL Your message to the following recipients cannot be delivered: <<user>@bar.com>: <<< configuration error: mail loops back to myself (MX problem). What could be the problem?
Well, one problem is that instead of posting the actual contents of your configuration files, you are posting some randomly-generated data, for some reason that escapes me. "foo.com" is registered to DigiMedia.com, Inc. in Texas, and "bar.com" is registered to some dude in Minnesota. I find no evidence that both of these domains somehow should have their mail handled by the same entity.
Neither does it appear likely that "<user>@bar.com" might be the name of an actual mailbox.
Your problem is most likely to be explained by the following Wikipedia entry:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_(game)The real problem probably got lost somewhere along the way between your actual server, and this mailing list.
