No, maildrop can read all of the environment variables that any other application run as part of delivery can.
My main intension is to parse the mail from from an external program through the .courier file.
And do what with it? If you want to modify the message, you should be calling the program with "xfilter" in your maildrop filter file, rather than from dot-courier.
