I know its not a perfect script. But that's not my question. Fine, I've removed the code to automagically create Maildirs if they don't exist. I still want Maildrop to immediately declare a permanent error when it can't write to disk because its over quota. This is preferable to having a mail sit on the queue for days before finally bouncing. Has anyone been through this problem with filesystem quotas and Maildrop?

This is the error I receive when looking at the mailq:

(temporary failure. Command output: sh: test: argument expected maildirmake: File exists maildirmake: File exists maildirmake: File exists maildirmake: File exists maildirmake: File exists maildrop: error writing to mailbox.)

Is it possible to have Maildrop report this to Postfix as a permanent failure immediately, ie the first time is sees this problem? This will explain why the error looks like it does - my /etc/maildroprc:

Before you square away the return code, do you understand that the above error message show that something is fundamentally broken with your script, and that you should fix it FIRST, before doing anything else?

"sh: test: argument expected" is a honking clue that something is terribly broken.
