Thank you, Gordon.>>
I have module.esmtp configured with MAXRCPT=10. This is primarily to
enforce
external users connecting to courier esmtpd.
That value is used for the module that sends messages out, not the
server that accepts mail. You've told courier never to try to send a
message to more than 10 people on the same server in a batch.
You probably wanted to set "maxrcpts" in the bofh file.Ok... but it still
seems to be behaving differently, or I'm not understanding what you meantI
changed MAXRCPT to 50, IOW allowing the server to attempt delivery to up
to 50 addresses in a batch. And I changed maxrcpts in bofh to 10, which, if
I understand your comment above, should prevent delivery attempts INTO my
server. But what I'm seeing is not quite that. I've configured my mailing
list manager (mailman) to attempt to send out in batches of 50, to match
the setting of MAXRCPT=50And I left the bofh setting at 10, to prevent
accepting external mail at more than 10 in a batch. But now I see in
maillog a ton of error messages "531 Too many recipients"It seems like
courier is rejecting my attempt to send out a batch that is greater than
the bofh setting (and equal to the MAXRCPT setting)Ricardo
