At this point it appears as though Courier Authdaemond is not trying to querying the MySQL Database when being used from Postfix/Cyrus SASL. It works fine with Courier IMAP/POP3.

authdaemond has no clue who's talking to it. All it knows is that someone established a connection and issued an authorization request.

Since, as you say, it works with Courier-IMAP, that shows that authdaemond is configured and is functioning correctly.

So you need to look at the Postfix/Cyrus combination. I didn't even know that someone added authdaemond support to Postfix and/or Cyrus. Whoever it is, they're probably hanging out on Postfix/Cyrus lists, and they'll be your best bet to figure this out. Make sure to indicate that authentication works correctly with Courier-IMAP, so that they understand that you have a working authdaemond configuration.
