i experienced a unexpected result when running a test on email delivery. Is this they way Courier is set to behave around delivery regarding email addressed to an [EMAIL PROTECTED] Maybe i've got something wrong with the way i'm using email aliases?

some specs:

- several virtual hosted email domains on server
- primarydomain configured and operating properly with mailboxes and aliases
- alias domain configured in both hosteddomains and esmtpacceptmailfor and makes where run

what happened:

1) sent a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED], when [EMAIL PROTECTED] is a mailbox, it arrives just fine in [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailbox.

2) sent a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED], when there is only an alias for [EMAIL PROTECTED] bounce back occurred with "user unknown". 3) added an alias for [EMAIL PROTECTED] to match the forwarding addresses listed for [EMAIL PROTECTED] alias. sending again and the email got delivered fine with this extra layer of aliasing aliases... seems like a redundant work-around. any suggestions?

4) notably, also, sending it with this last configuration, 3), generated no logs of processing or delivery into mailbox it was forwarded to (maybe that is a separate issue, why no logs were generated when sending to an alias that forwards to a local mailbox... SA ran on message according to headers)

any tips or thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks,

charles
