No, I don't think anyone is going to do this. It would be a lot of work and would also require changing around the Makefiles in the tar ball. I looked at the .spec file, and it just calls the top level Makefile, which in turn builds everything else. I really doubt anyone wants to go to the work of trying to split them all up so they can be built separately. An old professor of mine used to say (a long time ago) that you should take all the time where you were sitting around waiting for a program to compile and evaluate your life. Think of that 20 minutes as "built-in life reflection" time. Imagine what a well-rounded person you could be after several days of repeatedly compiling courier! ;-) > As an possibly alternate solution, I have heard that through using the > usual ./configure;make;make install process you can specify which > modules to install. You can have rpm pass anything you want to ./configure by editing that section in the spec file. But I don't know of any way to specify that you ONLY want to build the imap modules, for example. > 2.) This is the place. Write the list explaining the patch and attach it to the message. Then Sam (and everyone else) can look at it, comment on it, and Sam can decide if he wants to include it.
