Yep, that's what dot-courier files are for.  They provide delivery 
instructions when DEFAULTDELIVERY isn't suitable.

It ought to be.  You probably want to ditch the whole dot-courier setup 
that you've got.  It really seems overly complicated.  Whatever you're 
specifying in dot-courier files (mailbox path?) probably belongs in your 
userdb.  Just specify users' home directories in the userdb, and use 
maildrop in DEFAULTDELIVERY.  Your configuration will be greatly 
simplified, and you'll be able to call 'xfilter "spamc"' in your 
maildroprc, to deliver filtered messages.
