But what does it tell?

That Courier believes that you are out of disk space. The error message is partially cut off, and there's some other confusion, but that's the gist of it.

Disk space and Inodes are available... this is a fresh installation.

It's one or the other.

I do recall an incident where someone used non-standard compiler flags to build Courier, resulting in an incompatible ABI with glibc that resulted in similar symptoms.

How did you build Courier?
