Your c++ compiler isn't installed.  You're probably missing most all of 
your development environment.

If you're going to build packages, you should do so on a system other 
than your production system.  Build another, identical system (possibly 
also in vmware), and install the dev tools:

yum install glibc-devel gcc gcc-c++ make ...

Courier also requires a bunch of -devel packages, but rpm will tell you 
about that when you try to build the software.  Install all of the 
dependencies using yum.
