Hi all,

Using Courier IMAP 4.1.1 server and Icedove (Mozilla Thunderbird)
1.5.0.9 client, both on Debian Etch. I've worked on many such setups
before, but never seen a problem like the one here. mail.log shows
instead of users doing LOGIN then LOGOUT, they LOGIN then TIMEOUT.

Mar 19 13:00:09 localhost imapd: TIMEOUT, user=ornit,
ip=[::ffff:192.168.2.10], headers=844, body=1304, rcvd=238450,
sent=4424, time=5344
Mar 19 13:27:08 localhost imapd: TIMEOUT, user=nadia,
ip=[::ffff:192.168.2.199], headers=0, body=0, rcvd=788, sent=150, time=1880

This is a thin client setup so courier and icedove actually run on the
same machine rather than across a network.

Can anyone shed some light on this? I suspect it may have an influence
on a problem we are seeing where when two users access the same IMAP
mailbox, and the displayed messages in Thunderbird get out of sync, even
after clicking Get Mail.

Antony
