It might matter. "/usr/lib/rpm/ia32e-linux/macros" doesn't exist on my
system, so it must be included only in the x86_64 package of rpm.
Does VMware support a 64 bit guest? It doesn't look like it. I think
you'd be better off with good old x86 CentOS as a guest. If rebuilding
is too much work, just remove any references to %{_smp_mflags} from the
spec file.
