Dear friends,

my Courier Mail Server (http://mail.vet.unipi.it ) rejected several
legitime messages for that hardcoded limit of 5.000 bytes in "submit.C".

Many users (and supervisors of mine) in my university were getting very
nervous about this limit.

I was not able to explain them, why it is not enough the set a "Maximum
recipients per message" in BOFH mail filters... Why another limitation
to the header size?

So, upgrading to 0.55.1, I followed this recommandation by Jeff Janson:
http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg13299.html

I modified "submit.C", as Jeff explained.

I ask Sam to withdrawal that hardcoded limit.

We DO have temporary groups of hundreds users who are writing each
other. I think they should be allowed to.

Thank you for care.

m.
