If you specify "Authentication Required", then no one can send mail to your server unless they first authenticate. That's what you are seeing. Courier rejects any mail unless the other side first authenticates. You normally don't want this and so you should set AUTH_REQUIRED="0". Then courier will accept mail for users at your domain, which is probably what you want. By default, courier is very secure. It won't accept mail for unknown users, and it won't allow you to relay through it unless you authenticate first. You don't have to do anything if you just want to allow your users to relay mail if they authenticate first. Courier does that by default. If you are trying to do something else, then tell us what you want to accomplish and someone can probably tell you how to do it (assuming it's possible).
