In /etc/courier/authlib/authdaemonrc I have
authmodulelist="authvchkpw"
I am using vpopmail vchkpw as the backend authentication. User account
info is located on the same physical server in mysql 5.0.42.

Any guidance on determining and/or fixing the root cause of the
authdaemond memory issue would be welcome.
You can begin by explaining with authentication module you're using,
and how you configured it. Without knowing that, the only thing I can
tell you is that if the authpipe module is enabled, but the
corresponding script is not installed, there will be a memory leak,
and this has been fixed in 0.59.
