Hi everyone,

I just realised that mails from PayPal don't get through anymore (must / could be in conjunction with my latest upgrade of courier).

Sep 13 09:37:57 node1 courieresmtpd: error,relay=66.211.168.231,from=<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: 417 SPF error [EMAIL PROTECTED]: DNS MX lookup failed.?

-:[~]#> host -t txt paypal.com
paypal.com descriptive text "spf2.0/pra mx include:s._sid.ebay.com include:m._sid.ebay.com include:p._sid.ebay.com include:c._sid.ebay.com include:spf-2._sid.paypal.com ~all" paypal.com descriptive text "v=spf1 mx include:s._spf.ebay.com include:m._spf.ebay.com include:p._spf.ebay.com include:c._spf.ebay.com include:spf-1.paypal.com ~all"

-:[~]#> host -t mx paypal.com
paypal.com mail is handled by 10 data.ebay.com.
paypal.com mail is handled by 10 gort.ebay.com.
paypal.com mail is handled by 10 lore.ebay.com.

Ignoring the includes I understand that the mx record should be used, but courier is unable to get it?

There are additional MX records referenced by this SPF record.

p2._spf.ebay.com. 3600 IN TXT "v=spf1 ip4:65.110.161.77 ip4:204.13.11.49 ip4:204.13.11.51 include:liveworld.com include:emarsys.net ~all"

iveworld.com. 1440 IN TXT "v=spf1 a:mail.liveworld.com a:smtp.liveworld.com a:mail.mccmedia.com mx:smtp.liveworld.com a:sjc.liveworld.com ip4:63.80.14.0/23 ip4:208.64.132.0/22 -all"

emarsys.net. 7184 IN TXT "v=spf1 a mx ip4:81.223.46.25 ip4:81.223.46.26 ip4:81.223.46.27 ip4:81.223.46.28 ip4:81.223.46.29 ip4:81.223.46.30 ip4:81.223.46.10 ip4:81.223.46.11 ip4:81.223.46.12 ip4:81.223.46.13 ~all"

You might have a temporary DNS failure looking up these secondary MX records.
