Default addresses are a really bad idea, anyway. Spammers will, over time, start to send spam to increasing numbers of invalid addresses. If you attempt to bounce them, you'll find that most of them are nonreturnable, and your postmaster account will get the notices. One way or another, the spam goes to a person who starts to ignore it, because it will become overwhelming in volume. At that point, the default address provides no benefit, because no one pays attention to what it receives; rather, it simply increases the amount of mail that you accept, and generally costs you resources (ultimately: money), and potentially leads to lost mail, since senders don't know when they mistype valid addresses. Even if your customers insist that this is what they want, it will only be a matter of time until they ignore it or turn it off. It's best to start out with a configuration that works correctly, and avoid the default address problem. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
