In the 'courierd' file in your courier's 'etc' directory (usually
'/etc/courier' or '/usr/lib/courier/etc') look for the variable
'ESMTP_USE_STARTTLS'  Change it from '1' to '0' and courier will never
use STARTTLS when sending mail to another server.
