I think his problem is that he has internal mailservers behind this
machine. And you are right of course. It is couriers default behaviour
to allow that. He might not be aware of how to configure that:

All you need to do is to include every internal host (or domain that
those hosts process if it is different) behind this server in the
esmtpacceptmailfor config file(s) and execute 'makeacceptmailfor'. This
will accept mail for those servers without them being hosted. Of course
DNS needs to be setup appropriately and depending on what he's doing
entries in esmtproutes could be neccessary.

If you can't get it to work, Mircea, you'll have to tell us exactly how
your setup looks like, with host names and domains hosted.
