I think the customers mailserver is a microsoft exchnange server. because the copied mail has the unchanged FROM Address in it, their own domain, but a not allowed MTA IP address, the message is not accepted.

Courier has no role here, so this question is more appropriate on the maildrop list. However, this does not involve maildrop either. Once maildrop hands off a forwarded message to the local mail server, in this case it's apparently Postfix, it's completely out of the loop, and is no longer involved in the process.

This is a problem between your sending Postfix server, and the receiving Exchange server. Maildrop is not involved.

If you do not understand why Exchange is rejecting this mail, you should ask that Exchange server's administrator, or some Exchange-specific mailing list, and based on the answer work it out between you two whatever needs to be fixed.
