Calm down, man. There are plenty of people who believe that the best way to combat email viruses is to disallow outbound TCP connections to port 25 from systems other than the SMTP server, and additionally scan outgoing messages at the SMTP server. Layering security is good. It mitigates the risk posed by direct-mail viruses as well as the viruses that infect files that people exchange and those that use Outlook as a mail transport.
