I am a new user to courier. I run sendmail/qpopper cureently and I am tierd of trying to get SPF working at the door so I am going to replace my entire mail system with Courier and all of it's components.
In just working through trial and error, I was happy to get SPF working. :) Now, I also use PINE as my MUA and have always used MBOX format with POP3. I have read that using PINE to Courier's Maildir system works most seamlessly if I use IMAPD as the middle man. And I kind of like the idea of experimenting with IMAP anyway. Now I am using Courier with MySQL support, and have my Courier passwd database. My passwords are plaintext. I turned on the IMAPD daemon, and tried to have PINE login to it. and I am getting CRAM-MD5 failures. I wanted to try debugging by using telnet to the imap2 port, using md5sum to make a hash of my plaintext password contained in my MySQL database. telnet 10.0.0.20 imap2 Trying 10.0.0.20...
