Hi!
I have the following version of courier-pop3 server: 0.53.3-5 (debian -etch).
One of my clients (behind NAT) started exhausting MAXPERIP limit.
After some investigation I finded that some of his connections stay alive for
7200 seconds (tcp_keepalive_time). Then there
is sent a keepalive packet without response. Then there is a 9 probes
(tcp_keepalive_probes) each after 75 seconds (tcp_keepalive_intvl).
And then the connection is terminated. Those keepalive packets leaves my router.

I also noticed that when I telnet to my server on 110 port and do nothing the
connection is alive forever.

I read from this list that inactive connections are dropped after 5 minutes.
Not in here.

I can't change tcp parameters because they would have influence on whole system.

How to drop inactive pop3 connections ?
I have already set MAXPERIP.
Sorry for my poor english.
