Hi Sam,

How does courier run the DROP?.

Does it run before the HELLO/EHLO or after the AUTH command issued by the user?

If it runs before HELLO/EHLO, Is it possible to set an option that just block
the connection just after the AUTH cmd?. This way, I think, if a site has only
one server that is used as inbound and outbound connections for registred users
that connects from outside the LAN, then they will be able to send emails
through it, but setting the DROP alone without an option will drop also the
posibility to issue an AUTH cmd.

Or is it possible to modify the BLOCK parameter so it can be evaluated just
after HELLO/EHLO and before the MAIL FROM?. If a user issues an AUTH then they
would be marked as authenticated on the server and be able to send emails from
any WAN IP, so the DROP option can be used only for server-server connections.

Carlos.

A new development build is available.

Changes:

• An option to drop connections from blacklisted IP addresses, rather than
accept them and bouncing all mail. This is a new -drop option to
couriertcpd, which can be set in the esmtpd configuration file.
