Yes. couriermlm relies heavily on environment variables initialized by Courier when it invokes a mail delivery agent specified in a .courier file, specifically SENDER, DEFAULT, and DTLINE. There may be others too that I don't recall.
Additionally, the current version of Courier is more locale-aware, and environment variables such as LANG, LANGUAGE, and any LC_* must also be preserved.
