You're hypothesizing the infection of your Unix server with malware, and 
spam is the part you're worried about?  Forget about it.  Spammers have 
desktop PCs to target for their engines.  That market is easier and more 
widespread.  The risk of spammers hacking your server to run a spam 
engine is just this side of nil.
